Welcome to Kindergarten!

The Kindergarten team at Griswold Elementary School aligns with Griswold Public Schools’ mission, vision, and goals by creating caring, inclusive kindergarten classrooms where every child feels valued. Through social-emotional learning and personalized instruction—blending play-based, traditional, and digital activities—we nurture each student’s interests, strengths, and needs.

Our integrated, research-based curriculum builds strong thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills in English Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies, preparing students for lifelong learning and future success.

Hi! I’m Ms. Demicco, and I have the joy and privilege of teaching kindergarten. I’ve always believed that the early years are the foundation for lifelong learning, and with over 17 years of experience in the classroom I strive to create an environment that fosters curiosity, kindness, and a love of learning where each child feels valued, encouraged, and excited to explore the world around them. Outside of the classroom I enjoy spending time with my kids, relaxing on the beach, playing board games, and dreaming of a Disney vacation!

Hello! Welcome to Kindergarten! I grew up in Australia, moved here at 13, and have been teaching for 19 years—18 of them at Griswold Elementary. When I’m not in the classroom, I’m a wildlife rehabilitator who loves caring for animals from fawns to raccoons. Kindergarten is such a special time to build friendships, grow in independence, and discover new skills, and as our class symbol, the Koala will remind us to climb to new heights together this year!
